WebSync: Action Required After Google's Gemini Notebook Update

Hello friend!

Google has recently rebranded NotebookLM as Gemini Notebook and changed its address from notebooklm.google.com to notebook.google.com.

Because of this change, I needed to update WebSync so it can continue working with the new website.

WebSync version 2.3.9 is now available and restores compatibility with Gemini Notebook.

Action required

After updating to version 2.3.9, Chrome will ask you to approve the new permission for notebook.google.com.

This is expected and is required for WebSync to connect to the new Gemini Notebook website.

Why do I need to approve new permissions?

Security is extremely important to me. WebSync only requests access to the specific websites it needs to work with. By requesting only the minimum permissions required, WebSync follows the principle of least privilege and helps protect your privacy.

A quick thank you

Special thanks to everyone who reported the issue and helped me work through Google's changes. Your feedback is what helps me drive this forward.

As always, if you have any questions or run into any issues after updating, just reply to this email—I'm happy to help.

Best,

Dan

P.S.

If you've been enjoying WebSync, I’d really appriciate it if you could leave a positive review on the Chrome Web Store review page. Every review helps more people discover and trust the extension.

Thank you again for your support.
